Soil management
Adding organic matter to the soil is key to building healthy soils. We strive to achieve this by doing the following:
– Producing our own compost to help build up poorer soils
– Planting cover crops in vineyards to help increase soil biodiversity, reduce soil erosion, and topsoil loss
– Applying mulches to reduce water usage & improve soil structure

Water Management
Water is managed as a scarce resource. All irrigation pumps are fitted with variable speed drives and water meters. Probe technology is used in the vineyard to ensure optimal irrigation scheduling.

Integrated pest management
An integrated pest management approach is followed that aims to reduce dependence on chemical pesticides. Increased monitoring of pests and incorporation of biological control agents help to further preserve our soils and water resources.
Weeds are carefully managed through selective control of problematic species. Mechanical and manual methods are mainly used to control weeds. Mulching and cover crops further reduce weed pressure. Beneficial species are left to thrive as it provides a food source for beneficial insects.
