In 2015, JDK started measuring its carbon footprint through the Confronting Climate Change Initiative. Through this platform, participants willingly submit their electricity, diesel, chemical, and packaging used for a 12-month period to a company called Blue North, which analyzes the data and then calculates the farm’s carbon footprint accordingly. Measuring our carbon footprint annually helps us see areas within the business that can be improved and set strategic goals of how to improve our footprint for the next year.
